ELIZABETH CITY – When it comes to meeting students where they are, not many institutions go as deep as Elizabeth City State University.

Elizabeth City is within 50 miles of the massive Norfolk Naval Station.  In the accompanying video, Dr. Kuldeep Rawat, Director of ECSU’s Aviation Science Program, explains how the university is working with the U.S. Navy to develop 8-week online modules that a sailor can access from the base, from on board a ship, or yes – even from a submarine.

“Navy personnel can complete it at their base and get a degree regardless of where they are located,” Rawat says.
